Simon is skeptical of nervous dad of 6 – then he opens his mouth and floors everyone

There are some people in this world who really deserve success — people who struggle day in and day out for those around them without asking for anything back.

One such person is nurse and father of six Michael Ketterer. And when he took the stage on “America’s Got Talent,” he took the whole world’s breath away.

When Michael steps onstage and tells his story, it’s hard not to be moved. He works hard in his job as a pediatric mental health nurse, he runs his own record label in his church — and he’s also the father of six.

Michael adopted five of his children, including one who has cerebral palsy. And together with his wife, Ivey, Michael has offered them a safe home with the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

It’s for his children that Michael decided to try out for “America’s Got Talent.”

“I’m here because I want to show them that if their dad can live his dream, then nothing’s impossible for them,” Michael tells the judges.

It’s soon clear that Michael isn’t just a guy with an incredibly big heart. Because once he shakes his nervousness and opens his mouth to sing, it becomes obvious that he has something special to offer.

Singing “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees, Michael captivates both audience and judges. So much so that notorious judge Simon Cowell is initially at a loss for words.

“Sometimes, to me, it’s just about being real and a surprise. If I’m being honest with you, because you were so nervous, I was concerned for you. But I think sometimes, actions speak louder than words,” Simon says.

And what Simon chooses to do next… yes, the tears are going to flow. In only a few days, the video has racked up more than 3 million views. Check it out in the player below and you’ll understand why:

I’m really happy for this dad and nurse’s success — and I’m so glad he overcame his stage fright and won over the judges, too. Share if Michael’s performance moved you, too!
