Have you guessed it yet? Here comes the answer!

Of course, we’re talking about “Unchained Melody”!

The timeless song was written in 1955 by Alex North and Hy Zaret. Believe it or not, it was originally released as the B-side to the Righteous Brothers’ single “Hung On You.”

One of the main reasons the song is so acclaimed is the haunting sound of Bobby Hatfield’s vocals. Bobby and his singing partner Bill Medley had an agreement that they would each do one solo performance per album, and the duo argued over who would get to record the classic song. Eventually it came down to a coin toss, and Bobby won out and went on to sing legendary song.
