Imagine creating a slice of the Caribbean in your backyard. You’d never want to or have to leave if you could just open your doors onto your very own beach.
Well instead of a pool, more and more people are opting to create just that and the results are stunning.
Many of us associate the beach and ocean as a calming influence. It’s where we go or wish we were at times of stress in our lives. But not everyone has the luxury of living near the ocean.
Now, a number of US companies are offering this dream idea and creating something that resembles a swimming pond in people’s backyards.
Apparently as long as you have the room any backyard can be turned into something that resembles the Caribbean.
Eric White, owner of Zydeco Construction, one of the companies offering this service, started out building pools.
“It has always been a dream of mine to do these different things,” Eric told USA Today. “I am all about figuring out a way to make things happen. I can look at any situation and come up with a way to fix it. I like to stay in the market for things that most companies don’t offer, especially custom requests.”
He even designed a patented specialty pump for the pond to keep it clean.
One couple are getting paid for visitors to swim in the backyard beach they created.
