When you’re a police officer on the beat, you have to be prepared for anything.
When officer Boyd was called to a domestic dispute, the situation was so volatile that he was nearly stabbed in the head.
One year later, he ran into the perpetrator again – and the outcome was so inspirational that he just had to write about it.
Officer JC Boyd was on patrol in North Carolina one night on October 25, 2014 when he was called to respond to a domestic dispute. When he arrived, the situation was volatile.
“Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head and I nearly shot him,” he writes.
Thankfully, no one was hurt during the course of the arrest. Officer Boyd was even awarded a distinguished service medal for his actions on the night, after he showed “great consideration for the life of the suspect.”
He continued serving as usual. Then a year later, he ran into the man again.
No one is ever lost forever
Officer Boyd describes how the man has sinec completely turned his life around, in a Facebook post which was liked over 180,000 times.
“Today we ran into each other again and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation he now has a full time job and has another son on the way that will be here in November.”
“I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends,” he continues.
Boyd ended his post with a inspirational message:
“No one is ever lost forever and as long as you continue to work to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday things will work out eventually.”
