Meghan and Harry are on a 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga. So far their trip has included a visit to Taronga Zoo and the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. But it was during a visit to Dubbo, in New South Wales, that a young boy and his sweet actions won the hearts of the Duke and Duchess.

Luke Vincent was introduced to Meghan and Harry by his school principal and immediately made a beeline for Harry’s beard. Being the gentle soul that he is Harry let Luke touch his beard and then introduced the sweet 6-year-old to his wife Meghan.

The adorable boy couldn’t get enough of Harry’s beard and hair, and was filmed doing so and then giving the royals the biggest hugs. The smiles on their faces are just heart melting.

This wasn’t the only adorable meeting the couple had this week. Since arriving in Australia, they have been showered with gifts, including stuffed animals for their upcoming baby, flowers, and tiaras.

But it was one young boy’s creativity that made him stand out from the crowd.

While in Melbourne, six-year-old Gavin Hazelwood, dressed up in a Qantas pilot uniform and presented the Duchess with a handmade pasta necklace.

“Gavin woke up ‘with a cough’ so had to stay home from school today. He whipped together a necklace for Meghan, painted it gold and hopes to give it to her soon,” journalist Rohan Smith shared on Twitter.

Proving what a people’s princess she is, Meghan immediately put the creation over her gorgeous navy dress, where it stayed until she arrived at the Government House for a formal reception

What great role models these two are, breaking royal protocol to show these children just how important and valued they are. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the tour has in store for us royal fans!
