Teenagers drug and set fire to dog: Now they’ve finally been sentenced

I’ve heard many, many disgusting stories of animal abuse, but this one is the worst of them all. Luckily, the monsters responsible for this abuse have now been sentenced, but poor Chunky will never forget the unthinkable treatment he endured.

This story played out in Kent, south England. Four boys who were high on drugs kidnapped dog Chunky while he was out for a walk with his owners.

The boys were only 16 years old, but their actions were pure evil.

The boys abused and beat Chunky. They broke his neck and two of his legs. But the torture didn’t end there. They drugged the poor dog and set him on fire before dumping him on a pile of trash and leaving him to die.

But Chunky survived. He was found the next day by passers-by who immediately took him to the vet.

“This was the most disturbing case I have ever dealt with – by an absolute mile,” Caroline Doe, from British animal organisation RSPCA, tells The Evening Standard.

“The whole thing sends shivers down my spine. The defendants may have been young and confessed to being under the influence of drugs but the cruelty they inflicted on this poor dog was extreme, barbaric and inexcusable.”

The veterinarian contacted Chunky’s owners, who were overcome with relief when they realised he would survive, even though his recovery would take time.

Despite the horror he has gone through, Chunky is still a happy dog who wags his tail every time his owners walk through the door.

The boys who kidnapped him were able to be traced by the police after writing a Facebook post about the incident. They were arrested and later confessed to the crime.

They were forced to pay large fines and banned from owning animals for 5 years.

I think they got off easy, but I still hope that they learned from this and will never repeat this disgusting behaviour ever again.

You can see how Chunky’s doing now in the clip below:

I think that the sentence for animal abuse should be much harsher. Any person who abuses an animal should never be able to own a pet. Share if you agree!
