Child abuse is one of the most awful crimes in the world, especially when the monster subjecting them to the abuse is a family member.
A child’s home should be their safe place, where they know they will feel secure and loved.
But sadly, that isn’t the case for everyone.
The organisation Bikers Against Child Abuse, BACA, was founded in 1995.
The bikers in the group realised that, despite being soft on the inside, they can appear scary to other people.
“We’re a rough lot, and we’re scarier than their perpetrators. We are scarier than their demons. It works,” says BACA member Tombstone to British paper The Daily Mail.
“They get that any one of us would gladly take a bullet for them.”
One girl, referred to as ‘FA’, knows how that feels. She was 10 years old when her stepfather started abusing her. Before being referred to BACA, ‘FA’ was terrified of what would happen to her if he got his hands on her.
BACA guarded her house day and night so that she didn’t have to be scared. They stood outside of her house until her stepfather was arrested and detained.
During another case in 2014, they accompanied a 5 year old girl into the courtroom to show their support.
The idea is that the child can focus on the bikers while they testify, instead of looking at the monster who abused them, reports Newson6.
