The older generation deserve all our respect; as we raise our families, look after our parents and work hard, we deserve all the help as we get older and weaker.
Sadly, this isn’t the case as many heartless people think it’s okay to target those who are weaker than themselves.
But three young men showed everyone how to respect their elders when they were captured on camera by a police officer helping an elderly couple in need.
Officer Kenesha Carnegie of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recorded the three men helping 89-year-old Rose Griest and her 100-year-old husband, David, get into their car outside a gas station, according to Yahoo News.
“I look over and three men were assisting the couple — it was a beautiful thing to see,” says Officer Carnegie, who recognized the men as rappers Joc Koe Stoe, Marty and Freddy G.
She approached the helping group and asked for permission to film.
“I know these men from the neighborhood, and I wanted them to have that moment to show who they really are,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.
The couple had stopped to use the restroom in the middle of a long journey and Rose had found herself feeling exhausted as she tried to get back into the car.
“Thank you so much fellas. I’m 100 years old,” David says in the video as the men steady Rose and assist David by helping him with his walker.
“I kept thinking, ‘She could have been my grandmother.’ 100 years old is a beautiful life,” one of the men who helped the couple said after.
Officer Carnegie posted the video on Facebook and it has attracted 6 million views.
