Cracked and dry heels are neither comfortable nor particularly nice to look at. But unfortunately, it’s a common problem that affects many.

Our first thought might be to go straight to expensive foot creams to try and get rid of the pain. But it turns out, that’s not necessary.

Step 1: Foot bath

Pour some luke warm water into a foot bath. Add two tablespoons of bicarbonate and two tablespoons of salt. Stir well and then soak your feet in the bath.

Let them soak for 15 minutes, then scrub your feet with a pumice stone. Gently pat feet dry with a towel.

Step 2: Massage

In a bowl, mix two tablespoons of oil with one tablespoon of sugar.

Gently massage the scrub mix into your feet for 5 minutes. Then rinse feet with clear water.

Step 3: Moisturise

Take a new bowl and mix two tablespoons of oil with a small piece of candle wax. Place the bowl in some warm water until the contents melt.

Allow the mixture to cool and massage it into your feet. Finish by putting on a pair of clean, soft socks before going to bed.

Ta da! Just like that, your feet are soft and refreshed!
