Michael J. Fox recently turned 58 and of course he celebrated with those who matter the most – his family.
The birthday boy, known for his enduring optimism in the face of fighting Parkinson’s disease, went to a restaurant and received a big cake.
His wife of 30 years, Tracy Pollan, honored her husband by sharing a sweet post on her Instagram account.
During his birthday party, Tracy Pollan posted a moving tribute for her husband, Michael J. Fox, along with a series of photos of the sweet couple.
Along with a picture of Michael J. Fox blowing out candles, Tracy referred to him as: “my love, my one and only, my best friend, one very hot guy.”
Tracy Pollan also posted two pictures of the couple smiling side by side.
Michael met Tracy over 30 years ago when they appeared on “Family Ties” and Tracy played Michael’s on-screen girlfriend, Ellen.
Michael invited Tracy for lunch, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The couple had their first child 10 months after the wedding. Two years later, at the height of his career, Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Tracy quickly realized the seriousness of the disease and how it would impact the couple’s future.
She stayed with her husband, despite knowing his career may be in shambles within 10 years.
Like many other couples, Michael and Tracy have similarities and differences.
Michael’s upbringing was unusual.
He quit high school and then managed to break into the entertainment industry. He was raised in Canada, while Tracy is from New York and studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute.
However, one thing that unites them is their positive outlook.
“We are at a stage where midway into our arguments, we don’t even remember what caused the argument anymore. Besides, we ALWAYS gave each other benefit of the doubt,” the couple shared.
When the couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, Tracy did an interview with People magazine.
Tracy told the reporter that she and Michael have always supported each other and Tracy has supported her husband with every decision he made.
“Us against the world”
She said that this is the very basis of their love and their strong marriage.
“It was us against the world that’s exactly what we’ve created,” she told People.
Tracy stands behind her husband in his fight against Parkinson’s disease, and together they work to support research to find a cure.
As they say, they have been fused together as one.
