Heartbroken dog runs away from home every day, but one day owner’s son decides to follow him

The loss of a pet can be devastating. When you have spent so much time with your pet, it becomes a valued member of the family and when you lose that pet, you go through a grieving process.

The same thing happens when a pet loses its owner.

Little dog Cesur lost his owner in January 2017. Mehmet Ilhan had died at 79 years old and during the last two years of his life Cesur had been a loyal companion to the struggling senior.

Mehmet had died in a hospital near his home in Bursa, Turkey, following a long illness that had left him paralyzed. His loyal dog was heartbroken.

“Because of my father’s paralysis, they had a different kind of connection,” Mehmet’s son Ali told The Dodo. “When my father was in the hospital during his last days, Cesur stopped eating.”

When Mehmets’s body was returned from the hospital and prepared for his funeral, his faithful dog stayed by him, refusing to move from his side.

Cesur also led the way during the funeral procession.

During the burial ceremony, Cesur sat next to his master’s coffin, his head bowed all the time.

“Nobody could touch him until my father was taken to the grave and was buried,” said Ali.

Cesur also witnessed the moment when his owner was buried.

After the death of Mehmet, Cesur now lives with Ali, but Cesur still misses his owner.

After a few weeks, Ali noticed that after he left for work, Cesur would run off outside.

One day Ali decided to follow the dog and see where he was going.

Ali discovered that Cesur was going to the cemetery every day to visit his owner’s grave.

“The people who work in the cemetery say the first thing he does in the morning is visit the grave of my father,” said Ali.

No one knows when Cesur is going to recover from his sadness, but meanwhile he is in the good hands of the son of his beloved owner, who takes care of him with all the affection in the world.

“Cesur has always been a noble animal,” said Ali. “He will live with me from now on.”
