Prince William and Kate have shared a photo from their wedding and thanked all their supporters for their kind messages on their 9th anniversary.
The stunning photograph shows the couple emerging from Westminster Abbey after exchanging their vows on 29 April 2011 with almost 2,000 guests and millions of viewers around the world.
U.K. residents remember the event fondly after they were granted a public holiday to celebrate the occasion during a warm sunny weekend.
In the image Prince William’s younger brother Harry can be seen as best man while Kate’s younger sister Pippa was bridesmaid wearing a dress that attracted much media attention.
Sharing the stunning image on Instagram the couple thanked all their supporters writing: “Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”
The post received more than 1.4 million reactions and thousands of comments including: “Wonderful wedding enjoyed by us all. Happy anniversary. What a lovely little family you have become,” and “Happy anniversary to a lovely couple. What an asset you are to our country.”
The couple always appear smiling, laughing and clearly enjoying each other’s company. They are parents to Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 2.
William and Kate celebrated the occasion in private at their Norfolk home of Anmer Hall, where they have been in isolation with their three children since lockdown started in the U.K. on March 23.
But self isolation hasn’t stopped them from staying connected with the many causes they support and bring a voice to by taking part in online conversations with hospitals and charities.
Many celebrities who have had the privilege to meet the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have revealed how well the couple work together.
Celebrity chef Mary Berry met the couple for a BBC show “A Berry Royal Christmas” and described the two as a “pigeon couple.”
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine, she added: “When they are together, he’s constantly touching her arm and looking over at her smiling and she’s the same with him. So natural.”
The couple met at St Andrew’s University, Scotland’s first university founded 600 years ago, and lived in the same dormitory sharing many classes together.
They took a three-year relationship break in 2007 and then announced their engagement in 2010.
Last year a source, described as a friend of the couple, told People magazine that Kate and William have “an old-fashioned marriage” but are “a great double act”.
The couple celebrated their youngest son Louis’ second birthday on April 23 and are preparing for another celebration on May 2 when Princess Charlotte will turn 5.
Please share to wish this wonderful couple a very Happy Anniversary.
