Olympic skater performs unexpected routine – brings the entire stadium to their feet

The celebrated show Riverdance from 1995 immediately caught the world’s attention. But when interpreted on ice, the result becomes even more sensational, if possible.

Wait until you hear the music — you will love it!

Before the Olympic Championships in 2015, U.S. national champion figure skater Jason Brown sat down with his coach and choreographer to come up with a new routine for the event.

When his team suggested he skate to “Reel Around The Sun” from the Riverdance show he thought his team had lost their minds!

But it turned out that their decision would be a magical one. As soon as the music started, the audience was captivated, and as Jason skated and jumped across the ice, the audience was in awe of the routine.

Everyone’s attention was directed to Jason and his figure skating. Because the show Riverdance is a step dance, you can only imagine how difficult it is to interpret with skates on. But the whole number is total brilliance – and before Jason had even finished, every person watching was giving him a standing ovation.

See how Jason is completely taken by the response in the video below. Over 20 million people have already seen this wonderful performance. When you see it, you will understand why.
