See what Elvis Presley would have looked like today, at 85 years old

When it comes to music, there’s only one true King!

Elvis Presley captured the hearts of multiple generations with his unique voice and virtually unparalleled talent. The fact that his music lives on today is testament to his timeless ability.

Of course, despite Elvis’ death on August 16, 1977, there have been many conspiracy theories fuelling the idea that he’s not actually gone.

Personally, I’ve never been convinced by any of them. I’ve preferred to just accept the passing of a once-in-a-liftetime talent, and enjoy the music he left behind as a legacy.

But many people have posed the question over the years: What would Elvis look like and what would he be doing if he were alive today?

Now, thanks to new technology, we can answer at least part of that question.

Elvis burst on to the scene as a 20-year-old, and music was never the same again. His career began in the mid-50s, when he recorded a song with Sam Phillips for Sun Records.

Shortly afterwards, Elvis signed a record deal with RCA Victor and released his first big hit. The rise of “Heartbreak Hotel” to the top of the charts was a swift one.

By the end of the 60’s, Elvis had become one of the most influential artists in rock and roll history. His appearances were provocative to some, but the people who attended his performances were left awe-inspired by the sheer showmanship.

In short, Elvis was a natural born entertainer until his very last breath.  When he died of a heart attack in 1977, the world was left to grieve a genuine icon. He was just 42 years old.

Every day since, fans all over the world have been wondering what could have been … How much great music have we been missing out on? What films would he have been in? And what would he look like today if he didn’t die?

Elvis Presley today

Well, maybe there is an answer to last question.

It all started when Sachs Media in Florida hired Phojoe to render images of what famous people would look like today. The small, family owned company creates artificially aged photos for missing persons reports – but Phojoe also uses the same technology to envisage how legends like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Elvis Presley would have looked today.

According to Ron Sachs, the work is a tribute:

“Through this series of images, we hope to honor them and evoke some of the magic they brought to millions of their fans,” he explained in a statement (quote via Ultimate Classic Rock). “Even as we ponder what wonderful new contributions they still could have made.”

The photo reconstruction of Elvis gives him a sandy gray head of hair and the appropriate amount of wrinkles for a man of his age.

But those stunning blue eyes haven’t dimmed a bit …

Now look at the picture and decide for yourself, what do you think?

Elvis Presley would be celebrating his 80th birthday if he were still alive today. In honor of this milestone, here's…
