The neighbors think he’s crazy when he puts THIS in his yard – now they all want it

Buying a house is probably one of the biggest investments you’ll make in life so it’s only natural that you would want to make it as safe as possible and protect your prize possession from burglars, pests and dangerous weather.

When Randy Wagner put something in his yard to protect his home from flooding, all his neighbors thought he was crazy. But when that heavy rain came, people soon changed their minds.

The neighbors had first thought Randy Wagner was crazy. Even people that drove by his house laughed at his new addition.

But when heavy rainfall was predicted over his Texas home and the water levels of the nearby Brazos River were already dangerously high, Randy took drastic action.

As the rainfall got closer, authorities were asking residents to leave their homes.  But Randy did not want to evacuate his home – on the contrary.

Instead of fleeing his home and trying to gather as many personal belongings as possible and just wait for the storm to pass, Randy decided to stay and hope his new yard installation would protect him.

Randy had searched for a good solution to protect his home from flooding and had come across something called AquaDam; a  giant tube that you fill up with water, which creates a kind of sandbag around your house.

You could understand the neighbors being skeptical after he spent $8,300 on a plastic tube. But, AquaDam wasn’t just any plastic tube; it’s a 400-foot tube filled with water that acts as a dam that Randy hoped could protect the house.

It took him several hours to get the whole thing filled up and installed in the right position around his home. But when it was done he could sit tight in his own home without having to evacuate.

You can guess who got the last word.

While thousands of homes were evacuated and damaged in these floods, Randy’s home stayed completely dry! After, it appeared that the $8,300 was a small price to pay to keep his home from flooding.

Randy could have been smug about it all and say: “I told you so” to his neighbors but instead he remained humble and thanked God for showing him the way.

In this clip, you can watch Randy reveal more about the crazy idea that saved his home.
