Customer asks elderly man if he’s buying Valentine’s Card for his wife – he wasn’t ready for his response

Every year, just after Christmas and in some stores during the festive period, the shelves fill with every kind of pink and red gift imaginable reminding us that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we really should be thinking about that special person in our life.

For one man it’s both a celebration and a sad reminder of the one love of his life. And how he chooses to honor this love is very special.

How we show our love isn’t always about what we can buy for them. But for many people it can help them to feel closer and in this elderly man’s case remember the person that will always have their heart.

A customer who was in the card store buying a birthday card for his mom saw the man looking through the cards and asked him who he was buying a card for. The man said it was for his wife. He would be giving her the note along with some roses. What a sweet gesture!

The customer learned the man’s wife was dead. She’d died three years earlier of breast cancer. He’d been placing flowers and a card on her grave every year.

“I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart,” he said.

What a challenging day Valentine’s Day must be for this loyal husband. What a special honor to his wife!

Please share this beautiful story with your friends and family to help remind them to hold close those dear to them and let them know they are loved.
