Shoppers hold their breath as cowboy and his horse are spotted parading the aisles

There aren’t many places left in the USA where you’ll find a real-life cowboy while out running errands.

For those who haven’t visited the warm and welcoming state of Oklahoma, its namesake musical may come to mind: “Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain.”

But it wasn’t just the wind that came sweeping down the plain one weekend. A rather unusual sight greeted shoppers at a tractor supply store in Elk City.

Robin Morris was shopping with his son when an elderly cowboy, complete with a hat and chaps, walked into the store and asked permission for his horse to come inside with him.

You’d think the store manager might have something to say about a horse wandering around his shop but not in Oklahoma!

Only in Oklahoma! Gentlemen walks into tractor supply and says I'm a senior here to buy senior horse feed for my senior…

“Only in Oklahoma!” Robin’s post reads. “Gentlemen walks into tractor supply and says I’m a senior here to buy senior horse feed for my senior horse. Can he come in?”

According to Robin, the manager said, “Well technically our sign on the front door does say all pets welcome must be on a leash! And a bridle is a leash for a horse!”

I wouldn’t expect anything less in this state.
